How high-quality images can increase your website

How high-quality images can increase your website conversion rate

When a website’s images, layout, brand colours, and beautiful design are cohesive, it’s pure joy scrolling through the pages. It ignites inspiration to engage with the business.

Images tell a story and give us great insight into a business.  A good-looking website, with breathtaking images, that’s easy to navigate makes a big difference too your conversion rate.  It’s important all the elements are working together.

In this digital age, especially now after lockdown, lots of businesses are moving online. This means it’s more important than ever to stand out in this competitive market.  Just using stock images won’t cut it! It’s not personal enough and will let your website down.

Using high quality images to tell your story is the best way to connect with your audience on a deeper level.

Featuring an ‘Our/My Story’ page on your website as well as eye-catching headshots and lifestyle images gives people the opportunity to connect with you and feel more engaged. This means they are more likely to fall in love with your brand.

Story telling imagery, combined with engaging website copy and a modern, sleek design will result in a website that knocks your dream clients socks off!

I loved being part of this fun project for Hali Boho Co’s new website. Designed by the talented creative director, Avalon Davy, from New Leaf Creative. She designed the visual brand & website.

I captured beautiful Paula on a local beach just before sunset together with her partner. She has stunning coastal décor. I fell in love with her amazing pieces.

Here are 3 tips from Avalon on how to create a standout website:

  • A targeted & consistent Brand. It’s important to know who you are speaking to through your website and what emotional response you’d love to evoke in them. By carefully selecting your colours, fonts, imagery, language, and overall visual identity to suit your target market, you can create a brand personality that is hard for your dream clients to resist. Consistency is key. Ensure you carry across your brand identity to your socials and anything else you create. This will help to make you look more professional and create brand recognition.
  • Engaging Web Copy. Web copy is 50% of what will keep people engaged so it’s important that it’s clear, concise, and compelling. If you don’t have a knack for copywriting, you can write up the first draft, to the best of your ability, then have a copywriter polish it up for you.
  • High quality, professional images are the difference that make the difference when it comes to the ‘wow-factor’ of your website. Like Ingrid said, some great lifestyle images will really boost the impact of your website. Including images of yourself (if relevant) is important! People want to see the face behind the brand. They want to connect with you as a person and your story because stories sell.

Enjoy and have fun capturing your story through your own branded images.
